Advertising is an audio or visual form
of marketing communication that
employs an openly sponsored, non-
personal message to promote or sell
a product, service or idea

steel carvings made
by the ancient
Egyptians
(hieroglyphics).
▹ During middle ages,
advertising signs
(consisted of
illustrations of
symbols of
products) were very
extensively used

Dawn of New Era
▹1440, German goldsmith, Johannes
Gutenberg invented printing press.
▹Advertising became a huge part of
society, this was the golden era of
advertising.
▹Although Americans are the forerunners
of the modern advertising, it had its root
in England.
▹Localized markets were replaced by
extended domestic national markets
and international markets. This
development created a need for
advertising.
▹By the end of 1920s, advertising had
grown, therefore skillful people were
required.

▹Guglielmo Marconi:1895, the first
radio signal was invented in Italy.
▹29 August 1922, the first Radio
Advertisement was Broadcasted.
