In iMovie, you can easily
scrub through video clips in
slow motion at an
appropriate speed, frame
by frame. During a physics
experiment or science
demo, students can record
and then slow down
footage to find out exactly
what is going on.
4. TimeGlider
Students research
events from WWII and
create an interactive
timeline which includes
a description of the
events, a link to the
webpage where they
got their information
and a picture.
Afterwards, students do
a critical analysis of the
events of the war
evaluating their impact
on society.

5. Tagxedo
Tagxedo is a word cloud creation tool
like Wordle, but it allows you to choose
a shape for your word cloud.
Use Tagxedo to help students
understand the full details of a research
topic (or article) and the connections it
may have to other topics/articles.
Students copy and paste the article into
Tagxedo to create a tag cloud, study
the results and identify the words that
appear the most. This information
allows students to develop a broader
base of understanding about their
topic, develop a stronger research
question, and find key words to help
them research more information about
their topic.
6. Blog Portfolio
Students create a blog to
showcase and reflect on
their best work. The
teacher might require
that the blog include
several different types of
writing, a photo essay, a
video created by the
student and several
reflection pieces.
