I am always excited about the tools which can aid me in my mission. And that mission is, to inject my test idea and produce effective results. Since my school days, I have been using various tools/utilities/plugins/extensions to execute my idea. To me, it is not about the tool only but also the idea that comes first to the brain from a variety of thinking skills. For instance, if I do not know how to drive a sports utility vehicle skillfully, I cannot harness the power of the machine offered to me. You are going to join me in this workshop for these 3 reasons: Usage of tools to perform better testing Increase your productivity and invest more time in testing Just because you can In this tools demonstration, I will be focussing on a variety of aspects or ways in how a specific tool can be used in your testing activity. And remember that, a tool offers you more than what you think it can achieve if and only the fuel is the right one to feed the tool. And that fuel is your creative ideas. In my childhood days and adulthood, I have used tiny, teeny, and little tools or plugins to extract great results in my testing and achieving effective productivity. In short, tools are my slaves and I am a good master. The first and foremost idea is to have blueprint/architecture of what you want to achieve and then the tools or frameworks or piece of code is a matter of connecting the wires to power the building. In the last few months there's been a growing friction between those who see CSS as an untouchable layer in the "separation of concerns" paradigm, and those who have simply ignored this golden rule and found different ways to style the UI (typically applying CSS styles via JavaScript). This debate have brought division in a community that used to be immune to this kind of “wars”. This talk is my attempt to bring peace between the two fronts. This presentation is focused on Semantic SEO techniques, the importance of curating structured data and the new Google search algorithm called Hummingbird. The hummingbird in English, is a very fast and accurate bird; in the world of search engines the changes introduced by this new algorithm are enormous. Google begins to understand, using natural language processing (NLP ), the search intent and provides answers instead of the traditional list of blue links. In this new scenario, it becomes crucial to "curate" your blog contents and link them with publicly available datasets. WordLift, a WordPress plugin (soon available in its version 3.0), allows us to publish content as Linked Open Data and connects these datasets with the Knowledge Graph of Google (the knowledge base Google uses to "respond" to users' queries). These slides, made by Kim Renberg and Andrea Volpini, have presented (in Italian) to the WordPress Meetup in Rome (# wproma on Twitter).
