This document discusses how sports can promote peace. It argues that sports can [1] bring unity, cooperation and celebration to communities by breaking down political, social and economic barriers. [2] Sports figures who represent other countries professionally can strengthen bilateral friendships. [3] The 2012 Zambian national soccer team's victory united people of different genders, races, political affiliations and tribes in celebration, demonstrating how sports promote unity.

3.  Crimes such as gender based violence and child abuse can
and should always be challenged! Educating communities /
societies on their human rights is paramount and having
stiffer penalties for offenders would serve as a deterrent
 Discrimination: people should be taught and encouraged to
co-exist regardless of race, colour or ethnic grouping.
Through open dialogue people can learn to understand,
appreciate difference and embrace similarities
 People should not waste their vote but instead use this as it
is their fundamental and democratic right to have their voice
heard and speak up if all is not well in matters of leadership
 Poverty continues to widen the gap between ‘those who
have’ and ‘those who do not’. World poverty should be
eradicated by those who have the economic power to do so
