Do away with crooked living and hidden sins -- stop covering our brokenness – bring it to Jesus for healing. Stop being two faced – giving one impression at church and another at home – one impression to our spouse and another at work – one impression to our family and another when with the guys. Instead, show integrity.
James 1:8 – double-minded man is unstable in all his ways
Another OT phrase comes from our other Isaiah reading Isa 62:10 “Remove the stones” It was also part of the ancient way of building roads. Remove the big obstacles. Some of us have obstacles in our lives that keep us far from God. Toxic habits, illicit relationships, bitter grudges. Such things we need to determine to remove. Confess them to God, confess them to someone else who can help. And let’s gets started at “removing the big stones”
