3. To this achieve this goal, I will present my research
proposal to my principal to discuss my plans for
implementing the proposal. I will use research to defend
my views on the benefits of peer mediated interventions.
After I receive approval to implement the proposal, I will
meet with my professional team, which are my
paraeducator, speech pathologist, occupational therapist,
and physical therapist. We will collaborate to develop a
plan to effectively implement the intervention. After my
team develops a plan, I will meet with the parents of the
students participating in the intervention to present
background information about the intervention. I feel it is
important to educate the parents, so they can support
their child throughout the intervention. Finally, I will
implement the peer mediated intervention program in my
classroom. I believe this peer mediated intervention will
enable my students with disabilities and students without
disabilities to develop meaningful friendships.
5. I know it is expensive to travel to Reggio
Emilia. Therefore, I have already started
saving money, so I can go on this trip. As I
plan this trip, I will continue to research
Reggio Emilia’s approach to teaching young
children. I believe going to Reggio Emilia to
experience their approach to teaching young
children will inspire me to create a Reggio
Emilia inspired classroom that enables my
students and I to learn alongside each other.
7. To achieve this goal, I will research the variety of
technology available to support my students’
learning. When I determine the programs and
technology tools available, I will discuss my plans
with my administration to establish an action plan to
purchase the developmentally appropriate
technology for my classroom. In addition, I will
create an account on donorschoose.org, so I can
request donations to help meet my goal of
developing a technology rich classroom. When I
receive the technology devices, I will integrate a
variety of technology into my whole group, small
group, and independent learning activities to engage
my students in learning.
9. I will achieve this goal by collaborating with the
parents on participating in the arts with their child.
This collaboration will take place during our
monthly home visits. During the home visits, I will
participate in art activities with the parent and
child. This will enable the parent to observe the
variety of strategies they can use in the home to
support their child’s development. At the end of
each home visit, I will provide the parents with art
activities that they can do with their child at home.
I believe focusing on integrating the arts during my
home visits will help me establish a strong parentteacher partnership that supports each child’s
development.
11. I will achieve this goal by collaborating with my
team to plan a variety of workshops that we feel will
be beneficial for parents. For example, we can
provide a workshop on behavior management,
which will teach parents strategies to address their
child’s challenging behaviors. Furthermore, I will
send home a survey to parents. This will help my
team determine topics the parents are interested in
attending. After the parent workshops are
scheduled, my team and I will offer the workshops
throughout the year. I feel these parent workshops
will provide parents with support and guidance as
they raise their young child.
