2. Born in Brazil, Rio de Janeiro, Claudia Mascarenhas started
her carrier as a chef in New York, where she lived for 12
years and owned a restaurant “Crepes & Co” in the Village.
After living in Portugal for 3 years, she moved back to Brazil
and worked at the most carioca bistrô Guimas as a chef
responsable for 3 locations. After that she opened her own
restaurant called Sitio Arqueológico, at Gávea , Rio de
Janeiro
At 2000 she opened a consultant company, working as
executive chef and Food and Beverage Manager for many
Restaurants in Rio and in the Green Coast ( Angra dos Reis
and Paraty and also resorts in the mountains ( Petrópolis and
Itaipava) Morro do Coco, Chez Dominique and Beira do Cais
(in the complex of Hotel do Frade), Mistura Fina, Traiteur de
France, Barril 1800, in Rio among others.
In 2005 became executive chef and F&B Consultant of the
historic Hotel Solar do Império in Petrópolis and Pousada
Tankamana in Itaipava. Responsible for the menu of
Leopoldina Restaurant with modern portuguese food .
Now she works as private chef and consultant chef of
restaurant Quintal das Letras, in Paraty. It is the restaurant of
Pousada Literária the belongs to a goup of luxury hotels.
