17. A and An are both singular. So, we use
them when we speak for one person,
or one thing.
Examples:
She is a girl.
This is an egg.
It is a book.
That is a ball.
This is a horse.
We use An for a word which begins
with the “a”, “e”, “i”, “o”, or “u”
sound.
Examples:
I ate an orange.
I have an umbrella.
He broke an egg.
He is an honest boy.
She had an ice – cream.
