A lot of graduates have shown interest in library work and about 3 have gone onto study for PG qualifications, mainly at John Moores Local Welsh Assembly member received a letter from one of our graduates about the lack of provision in this area GU has been involved with FDs since their national inception in 2002 we run over 25 in many diff subjects SMT and School of Computing support GaLW – gateways to libraries in Wrexham; our regional co-operative scheme. Good links with local FE and public libraries We also currently have 2 volunteers Aiming for CILIP accreditation after one cohort has been through the course CILIP’s Framework of Qualification report due? This will show where FDs sit

  3. Meetings and discussions were held across all sectors Are we covering the right subjects at the right depth and level Distinctive delivery model Library 2.0 combined with traditional skills – cat and class (DDC) = web 2.0 (metadata)
  4. 4 themes – information, traditional library skills, customer relationship and information / knowledge management (LLUK 2007 employers survey about skills gaps in the profession) Assignments – relevant to their workplace and hopefully of benefit to both the student and employer 120 credits at level 4 and 5 30 credits = 300 hours = 30 hours of face to face contact (1 week) Group presentations / group poster session
