• Tell me what can you say about the picture?
Describe her reaction.
• What do you think makes her feel that way?
• What do you think are the reasons why
teenagers became pregnant at an early age
nowadays?
The Author:
Jose Garcia Villa
Jose Garcia Villa was a poet, a literary
critic and a short story writer. He was
also a painter. He was known because of
his style in writing poetry which has the
use of commas after each words. Too
much for that let’s move on, on one of his
known literary piece “Footnote to Youth”.
Read “Footnote to Youth” by Jose
Garcia Villa.
Answer the following on a 1/4 sheet of paper.
• 1. Why was Dodong asking permission for
from his father?
• 2. How many children did Dodong and Teang
had?
• 3. What did Dodong and Teang feel about
their marriage after almost ten years?
• 4. What did Dodong realize after being
married for a long time?
• 5. What was Blas asking permission from
Dodong? Did Dodong allow him?

being young and perform it.
• Group 5 – Make a poster about
the theme of the story.
Enrichment Activity
• In a piece of short bond
paper create a vendiagram,
comparing and contrasting
the characters of Dodong
and his son Blas.
REMEDIATION:
• CLOSURE METHOD. Assume that the
story we read was not yet finished.
Write your own version of ending to the
story.
