Project and Derry City Council
present Galatea by Lawrence
Aronovitch Directed by Patricia
Byrne
A fresh look at the Pygmalion legend from a gay perspective, Galatea sees Harry,
a middle-aged painter, develop a 'liking' for Eli, the young model who poses for
him. Georgie, Harry's long term partner, is a bit jittery. This clever and entertaining
play is about love, loyalty, infidelity, marriage, class and art. The cast are trainee
actors associated with The Rainbow Project, a support organisation for the gay
community.
The performance will be followed by a short Q+A with the writer and cast. There
will be a wine reception at 7.15pm. All are welcome.
