Front Cover Production
1. This is the original picture, before editing. I took three different ones, and this was the best
quality, lighting and positioning.
2. I had to edit out the background of the picture with the background eraser tool in photoshop.
3. I now have the picture without a background so I can make my own background.
4. This is www.dafont.com, where I found the custom fonts I will use for my masthead and other
text on the cover. The three fonts I will use are Steelfish, Algre Sans and SF Movie Poster.
5. I added a white to black gradient background which makes the band members stand out and
will go well with my masthead.
6. I played around with different fonts and text colours for my masthead but I have decided to
use this as it contrasts well with the rest of the cover and has a professional style.
7. My main cover line anchors the cover image and sticks to the colour scheme of the masthead
to show that it is important. The description is white which contrasts the image and masthead
once again.
8. I added a barcode, issue number, issue date, and price to follow magazine coventions.
9. I also added two other cover articles to make the cover more interesting. Both articles will
help sell the magazine as one shows that the magazine is a special edition and the other
attracts people who are interested in the bands mentioned.
