IRREGULAR REFLECTION
4. Light is travelled by straight line.
Light cannot bend along the tube.
Light travels in a straight line known as rectilinear
propagation of light.
5. • It is one of the unique properties of light.
• The bouncing back of rays of light from a polished and
shiny surface is reflection of light.
6. The light ray , which strikes any surface is incident ray.
The ray that comes back from the surface after
reflection is reflected ray.
Make an angle 90 to the line represently the mirror at
the point where the incident ray strikes the mirror is
normal line.
7. The angle of incidence is the angle between normal
and incident ray.
The angle of reflection is the angle between the
normal and reflected ray.
Angle of incidence is always equal to the angle of
reflection .This is Laws of reflection.
8. i=angle of incidence
r=angle of reflected ray
Law of reflection
Angle of incidence=angle of reflected ray
i = r
9. An image formed by a mirror the left of the object
appears on the right and the right appears on the left,
This is Lateral inversion.
10. When all parallel rays reflected from a plane surface
are not parallel, the reflection is Irregular reflection.
It is otherwise known as Diffused reflection.
11. Reflection from a smooth surface like that of as mirror
is called Regular reflection.
