Presented at #govcampau on 10th September, 2011. For slide 3, I ran a short brainstorming session about what those users might want from Gov 2.0, particularly during particular life events. The three examples highlight how our concept of Gov 2.0 should take into account what happens at the front line (the edge) of solving problems and helping people. 3. SAMUEL electrical contractor; married father of 2
37 year old electrical contractor in Western Australia. He runs his
small business with the help of three employees. He want to be
more successful in meeting his business and lifestyle goals. While
he likes being his own boss, Samuel admits that he isn’t really
aware of how the Web could help his business.
EVA unemployed; living with schizophrenia
21 years old. Lives in a housing commission flat in Sydney. She is
socially withdrawn, but wants to return to employment. She
doesn’t have access to a computer or internet at home, but can
access it at drop in centre. If she had a job, she would get
smartphone on a cheap plan.
Anne home care worker; divorced
47 years old. Anne’s children are all grown up, but she enjoys
using that life experience in her role as a home care worker in
rural South Australia. Her job keeps her busy but because of her
location she has little contact with the people she works with.
She has an old PC at home, given to her by her kids.
