ADOLOESCENCE
WHAT IS STRESS?
STRESS is a state of mental tension,
pressure and worry caused by problems in
your life, work, etc.
UNDERSTANDING THE
SOURCES OF STRESS
Stress is uneasy for adolescence.
They acquire stress from people
around them. It may be from their
parents, schoolmates, friends and
environment. The problem starts
when they can’t cope with stress
and end-up distracted. The result
is that they immerse themselves in
rebellious activities. Adolescence is
vulnerable with stress because of
rapid changes happening in their
body. This stage is the time of
struggle and stress. It is also
where increase rates of disorders,
suicide and accidental stage
happen.
BIOLOGICAL
DEVELOPMENT OF
STRESS
This happens because of
sexual and physical
maturation happening during
puberty that causes hormonal
changes. As child nears
puberty stage, pituitary gland
increases the release of
FOLLICLE STIMULATING
HORMONES. It activates the
ovaries through producing
estrogen for female while
fertile sperm for males.
COGNITIVE STRESS
DEVELOPMENT
STRESS
This is called as one of the most
important causes of stress because
adolescents try to explore their own
world. This is a stage of collating
and experimenting. Thinking,
reasoning, learning and reflecting
are expected to learn during this
stage. This is where they try to
explore and experience their own
world. They will be piled-up by
huge loads of information and will
have the chance to make choices.
But if they will utilize the
information improperly, this will
lead them to risk may acquire
SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT STRESS
This considered as the crucial stressor. This is when
they enjoy freedom outside their family. They
become less obedient and more resistant and prefer
following their own rules. These behaviors may
rooted on some family issues such as divorce, family
and conflict. Healthy family relationship satisfies
adolescent period. The support from these people is
very essential for the youth. Absence of parental
support will lead the youth to seek support outside
his/her family which is dangerous.

This considered as the crucial
stressor. This is when they enjoy

OPTIMISTIC
Stress can pose danger to adolescents’ lives but can
also give benefits on them. It will iron and mold them
to be better individuals in the future and it will
develop them in facing other challenges and
become a competitive person. They must realize
that their performance will be deteriorate if they will
be distracted by stress.

  • 1. COPING WITH STRESS IN MIDDLE AND LATE ADOLOESCENCE
  • 2. WHAT IS STRESS? STRESS is a state of mental tension, pressure and worry caused by problems in your life, work, etc.
  • 3. UNDERSTANDING THE SOURCES OF STRESS Stress is uneasy for adolescence. They acquire stress from people around them. It may be from their parents, schoolmates, friends and environment. The problem starts when they can’t cope with stress and end-up distracted. The result is that they immerse themselves in rebellious activities. Adolescence is vulnerable with stress because of rapid changes happening in their body. This stage is the time of struggle and stress. It is also where increase rates of disorders, suicide and accidental stage happen.
  • 4. BIOLOGICAL DEVELOPMENT OF STRESS This happens because of sexual and physical maturation happening during puberty that causes hormonal changes. As child nears puberty stage, pituitary gland increases the release of FOLLICLE STIMULATING HORMONES. It activates the ovaries through producing estrogen for female while fertile sperm for males.
  • 5. COGNITIVE STRESS DEVELOPMENT STRESS This is called as one of the most important causes of stress because adolescents try to explore their own world. This is a stage of collating and experimenting. Thinking, reasoning, learning and reflecting are expected to learn during this stage. This is where they try to explore and experience their own world. They will be piled-up by huge loads of information and will have the chance to make choices. But if they will utilize the information improperly, this will lead them to risk may acquire
  • 6. SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT STRESS This considered as the crucial stressor. This is when they enjoy freedom outside their family. They become less obedient and more resistant and prefer following their own rules. These behaviors may rooted on some family issues such as divorce, family and conflict. Healthy family relationship satisfies adolescent period. The support from these people is very essential for the youth. Absence of parental support will lead the youth to seek support outside his/her family which is dangerous.

  • 19. Stress can pose danger to adolescents’ lives but can also give benefits on them. It will iron and mold them to be better individuals in the future and it will develop them in facing other challenges and become a competitive person. They must realize that their performance will be deteriorate if they will be distracted by stress.
