This document discusses health information systems (HISs). It defines health as the well-being of a person's physical, mental, and social condition. HISs gather, store, and transmit individuals' and organizations' health-related data, including hospitals, laboratories, and disease surveillance systems. This is done to increase the efficiency of health services and improve personal health. When establishing a HIS, many rules and regulations must be followed to protect individuals' privacy and ensure the accuracy of protected health information. Resources, indicators, data sources, data management, and dissemination and use are all important aspects of developing and maintaining an effective HIS.

When establishing a HIS there are many
Rules and Regulations to be maintained.
This is why the Health Information
Systems differ from many other information
systems.

6. Mainly to protect Individuals’ Privacy on Health
 The data bases must have a restricted access that no other unauthorized
can not get aware of the information.
PHI – Protected Health Information
 Individual’s past and present ,physical and mental health or conditions
 Provision of health-care
 Payments of health-care
 Any personal detail can only be used if only the data/information is accurate.
 Data bases should be updated seasonable.

15. CHI is more concerned over Computer Science rather than Health Info.
The Public Health Informatician works closely with other public health
professionals to improve population health by effectively managing the
information that is used for assessing, assuring, and advocating for
population health.

• When releasing a drug into the market R&D team does a laboratory level
research – Introducing the proper drug.
• Then a trial research by giving the drug to several patients.
• After releasing the drug to the market they do another research on the long
run effect on drug users.
