 Left Atari with Steve Wozniak to begin their own company.
 Built the first Apple Computer in his parents garage
 Began to attend trade fairs and other events to sell his product
 Got the attention of Ronald Wayne for a small initial investment
 Sold the first Apple computer (A Kit Computer) for $666

 4KB of memory with capabilities of expansion to 8 KB of

 Apple Disk II is introduced and competes with other industry
storage disks by cutting the price in half
 Steve Wozniak wanted an alternative solution to using cassette
tapes and normal floppies by introducing the Apple IIe
APPLE III
 Target consumer is business community
 Initial Price of $4,340-$7,800 not appealing to business
community as machine is plagued with problems
 Due to the commercial failure of the Apple III, the Apple II’s
continuation of vender support is extended
THE APPLE III
1980
 Apple goes public as they recover from the semi-failure of the Apple III
 Apple surpasses Ford Motor Companies Record and becomes the most
valuable IPO at approximately $1.8 Billion
 More than 40 Apple Employees become millionaires due to their stock
options instantly
L ISA IS INTRODUCE D
1984
 First computer to utilize a GUI (Graphical Interface)
 Immediately classified as a failure due to high price tag and know
compatibility problems
 Operating system was the LISA OS
 Steve Jobs is pushed off the LISA Project and sent to the
Macintosh Project

 Steve Jobs and his team begin development on the Macintosh
 Microsoft is brought in to assist with mouse-based applications
 Steve Jobs goal is to make an affordable computer and have one in
every household
MACINTOSH IS INTRODUCED
 The Macintosh is introduced as the “Computer for the rest of us” in 1984
 Original Price is $2,495

 Mac is known for greater compatibility with peripherals such as external disk drives,
numeric keypads and dot matrix printers
 Famous Superbowl Ad directed by Ridley Scott airs
 Included the first System and Finder apps in the OS

 Steve Jobs resigns from Apple due to internal issues at Apple and
creates the company NeXT
POST STEVE JOBS
 1987 Hypercard is released
 1988 Microsoft is sued by Apple with claims of infringement with
Microsoft's Windows 2.03
 Apple alleged that Microsoft violated copyrights for LISA Audiovisual
capabilities
 1991 Apple works on and releases the Power Book essentially Apple’s first
Laptop

 Originally Released in 1993
 Used the Newton OS
 Capable of Handwriting Recognition

 With the huge success of the iPod, Apple creates the iTunes Store
 The iTunes store presents the capability to purchase music online
 Steve Jobs also presents the first laptop with a 17-inch display and
a 12-inch display becoming the first computer company with the
largest laptop and the smallest
2006
 Steve Jobs Introduces the MacBook
 MacBook replaces the iBook and Powerbook
 The MacBook family is broken into two categories, MacBook Pro
and Air
THE IPHONE
 With the emergence of the mobile phone and portable music player market, Steve
Jobs creates the iPhone and releases it in 2007.
 The iPhone revolutionizes mobile phones by incorporating an App Market,
Music/Video Player and mobile phone into one device
 iPhone is originally released in partnership with AT&T
2010
 Steve Jobs introduces the iPad, a tablet devices with touchscreen capabilities.
 The iPad is said to have revolutionized the tablet market with no other company able to match it to
this very day
 The iPad is considered one of the greatest inventions in the first decade of the 21st century.
2011
 Steve Jobs passes away on October 5th, 2011 after losing his fight
with pancreatic cancer
 The tide in the technology world is changed forever as one of the
worlds greatest technological minds is laid to rest

Assumes the role of CEO following the passing of Steve Jobs
