2. Hitler Adolf Hitler came into power in Germany as their Chancellor in 1933. After 1934 he also became the head of state ruling Germany as their absolute dictator. Prior to his dictatorship in 1923 he was put in prison for a failed rebellion. And in prison he wrote his book Mein Kampf. He transformed the Weimar Republic to the Third Reich which is a single-dictator party based upon totalitarian ideals of national socialism. Within 3 years of the invasion of Poland (starting WWII) Germany and the Axis Powers occupied most of Europe, Northern Africa, East and South Asia, and the Pacific Ocean Hitler committed suicide with his wife on April 30th 1945.
3. Nazi Military The Nazis were Hitler’s military in the Third Reich. They were to persecute any threats and anyone that is a race enemy. Their favorite and most important group were the Jews. Hitler and the Nazi party were weeding out the bad. They wanted an Arian world. After World War II the Nazi murders were uncovered and many of the men and women who participated were put on trial known as the Nuremberg Trials.
4. Third Reich Third Reich is what replaced Weimar Republic once Hitler came into power. Third Reich could not have functioned without the swarms of international partners who supported Germany. Once the Allies took control of some of the Third Reich leaders, it eventually fell. Third Reich Flag
5. The Holocaust Hitler’s hatred for the Jews was not a secret and everyone knew he wanted them dead. The Holocaust was Hitler’s way of getting ride of them. This genocide killed about 6 million European Jews. Concentration Camps was where the Jews were sent. They were their as slaves, being starved and worked to the bone. Nazis also shot Jews in mass shootings and another popular way of killing them was sending them to the gas chamber for a “shower.” Families were torn apart in these camps the healthy were put to work included children, and the weak were put to death.
