8. Gobos Gobos are metal cut outs which can be placed in front of a spotlight. They are used to create effects. It is a cheap and effective way of creating a set

10. fresnel Lights a particular area but the edge is soft, not hard

12. Barn doors Light from fresnels can be directed by using BARN DOORS. They are four metal hinged flaps that slot in the front of the fresnel. They can be opened or closed to help control or shape the light. They can focus in on one particular areas

18. Gels - Cinemoid Creating atmosphere through the use of colour is done using gels/cinemoid. There is a bracket at the front of a light which a gel holder can be inserted.
