The foundation for the structure consists of fourteen continuous sections, with eight running north-south and six running east-west, varying in length from 233 to 60 feet and depth from 5 to 1.5 feet. A total of 15,667.5 cubic feet of concrete will be needed across the varying foundation sections. Base plates of 18x18 inches are used where each section meets a 12x12 column to prevent puncture fractures.

1. Foundation
The foundation for our structure was primarily designed using the Bentley Ram
Structural System program. It consists of fourteen continuous foundation sections, eight
of which face the north-south direction, while six face the east-west direction. The sizes
of each foundation vary, however a width of 3 feet is universal for each one. The lengths
for each foundation range from 233 feet to 60 feet, while the depth ranges from 5 feet to
1.5 feet, with 1.5 feet being the most common in the areas where the foundations are in
close proximity to each other. Because of these sizes, a total of 15,667.5 cubic feet of
concrete will be needed for the building stages. Base plates of 18x18 inches are used
for each section that meets a column. Each column has a size of 12x12 with varying
thicknesses, so this base plate size will help prevent any puncture fractures from
occurring. In order to have standard load combinations and design criteria, the ACI 318-
08 and the IBC 2009 / ASCE 7-05 have been used for this process. All reinforcements,
including top, bottom, and shear, have been designed in the aforementioned program
as well, and are included in the design notes.
