5. HAWAIIAN FLAG
King Kamehameha, the Unifier of Hawaii, adopted the
current flag of Hawaii in 1816. The 8 bands of White,
Red and Blue stand for the 8 major Hawaiian islands,
the colors for the US colors. The Union Jack represents
the ancient friendship with Britain.

flower is the PUA ALOALO-

8. Hawaii has 8 major and 124 minor islands and all have
been created by Volcanic activity. Mauna Loa on Hawaii
is the world’s largest active volcano at 4,168 Mtr height.
Hawaii has beautiful beaches- like Hanalei and Waikiki,
caves, volcanoes and valleys. The largest natural lake is
Halulu. Hawaii does not have any major rivers.

vacation destinations in the world. Each year many
tourists come to enjoy the natural beauty of the
islands. Hawaii’s economy has become greatly
dependent on service industries, retail trade, and
transportation. Hawaii’s agriculture is sugarcane ,
pineapples, livestock, macadamia nuts. The
apparel, food processing, stone and gems
industries are important to Hawaii.
10. Some famous people from Hawaii include Barack
Obama, Nicole Kidman and Don Ho! The first known
European, Captain James Cook made first contact with the
Hawaiian people on 1/20/1778. The Japanese attacked Pearl
Harbor on 12/7/41. From 1941, Hawaii came under US
military rule, until it became the 50th US state in 1959.
11. VOLCANOES NATIONAL PARK
One of the most-visited attractions in
Hawaii is the Hawaii Volcanoes National
Park Located on Big Island . The park
boasts the summit of the world's most
active volcano, Kilauea, and the world's
most massive volcano, Mauna Loa. The
park offers unique hiking and camping
opportunities. The entrance fee is $5 per
person for 7 days all year round. The park

HAWAII IS HOME TO MANY WILD ANIMALS
THAT CAN BE FOUND IN THEIR NATIVE
HABITAT, AS WELL AS IN ZOOS, ANIMAL PARKS
AND SANCTUARIES. HAWAII'S ZOOS AND
WILDLIFE PARKS ALLOW VISITORS TO
VOLUNTEER AND INTERACT WITH SOME OF
THEIR AMAZING ANIMALS. THE ADMISSION
PRICE FOR KIDS IS $6 AND FOR ADULTS IS $14.
THE ZOO IS OPEN DAILY FROM 9 AM TO 4:30
PM.
15. Conclusion
Hawaii is a really, really great state. I think
everyone should visit Hawaii because it has
lots of natural beauty-active volcanoes, parks,
wildlife and some of the best beaches in the
world with giant waves. It has a great history
with many important events having taken
place. Hawaii has wonderful food that is world
famous.
I was fascinated to learn that the whole of
Hawaii was made from Volcanic activity. I also
learnt the worlds biggest and massive active
volcanoes are in Hawaii. I can truly say any
visit to Hawaii will be MEMORABLE!!
