Jim: Yes, I am. Nice to meet you.
Tiffany: Nice to meet you, too. Let´s sit down, please.
Jim: Thanks. I am glad to finally meet you in person. You look great.
Tiffany: Well, thank you. You look great, too.
Jim: Do you drink coffee? They serve excellent coffee here.
Tiffany: No, thanks. I don’t usually drink coffee in the evening.
Jim: Why is that?
Tiffany: I never sleep well if I have caffeine after 5:00 pm. I prefer some water
instead.
Jim: Good. So, tell me a little bit about yourself.
Tiffany: Well, I work as an office assistant at an insurance company. And you?
Jim: I am a computer programmer for a software company.
Tiffany: What do you do?
Jim: Usually, I design and test mobile apps.
Tiffany: Wow, that’s awesome! Do you mean, apps for smartphones?
Jim: Yes, your phone probably has one of our apps on it.
Tiffany: I don’t think so. I never use any of the features of my phone. I only use it to
make and receive calls.
Jim: Don’t you use it to send text messages?
Tiffany: I seldom do. I prefer to make phone calls or send emails from my computer.
Jim: What do you do when you are not working?
Tiffany: I often try to go to the gym but I rarely have time to do it. Do you exercise,
Jim?
Jim: I occasionally run on weekends, but I don’t do it regularly.
Tiffany: Why?

Jim: Well, I frequently go to have a drink with my friends and I get home late at night.
It’s hard to exercise when you don’t sleep well the night before.
Tiffany: Let’s see…you have an interesting job, you don’t exercise often. Tell me, do you
smoke?
Jim: Actually, sometimes I smoke, when I am out with my friends or when I am under
stress.
Tiffany: Oh, I think I have to leave. I am late for another appointment

Leisure Time
How much free time do you have?
Parents and older relatives often say young people spend too much time in free time
activities that do not allow them to concentrate on their duties. Is this true for you?
Listen and read the following conversation between a mother and her son and, then,
answer the questions about it.
Rose: Jeff, are you there?
Jeff: Yes, mom. Come in!
Rose: (abre la puerta y entra a la habitación) Listen dear, do you want to join us in the
living room for a movie? It’s an action one.
Jeff: No, mom. I want to finish my game. I still have ten levels to go.
