Mitosis Flip Book
INTERPHASE The beginning stage this is the longest period of the cycle The DNA replicates, Centrioles divide and proteins are produced
The Nucleus begins to fade and chromatin condenses into chromosomes. Cytoskeleton attaches to other cells Prophase
Prometaphase The nucleus has completely faded releasing the chromosomes which begin to a line with the spindle fibers
Metaphase Tension applied between the fibers a line the chromosomes in the middle of the cell
Anaphase Spindle fibers shorten the kinetochores separate and the chromatids spilt and the cell begins to pinch into two different cells
Telophase Arrive at the end of the poles and the spindle fibers begin to fade away
Cytokinesis The spindle fibers not attached begin to break down. The contractile ring begins to split the mother cell into two daughter cells. New nuclei form
Interphase The two daughter cells have split from the mother cell and have started the cycle all over.
