INDIAN FACE
INDIAN EQUITY BENCHMARK rose to a record closing high as
expectations of further monetary stimulus in the Euro zone
raised hopes of continued foreign inflows.
Further, Tech Mahindra is talks to acquire firms to further
enhance its geographical reach competence in order to reach
its goal of $5 billion by CY2015.
Shares of defence equipment makers rose after the
government notifies increase in FDI limit to 49% through
approval route in the defence sector.
GLOBAL FACE
Asian stock markets took a cue from Wall Street and gained
with the Nikkei 225 up 0.4% on a slightly stronger dollar and
gains in technology shares.
European stocks markets were steady to lower in light trade,
as markets took a breather after the recent rally in European
equity markets due to recent comments by European Central
Bank President Mario Draghi.
U.S. stocks market rose after data revealed Americans bought
more long-lasting manufactured goods last month than
markets were expecting, while upbeat consumer confidence
data boosted equities as well.

Tata Global plans to give thrust to its
water business
Tata Global Beverages is planning to give a thrust to its water
business with a goal to take the segment's contribution to
company's revenues to 10% from 1% currently positive in long run,
no near term addition to earnings.
Bajaj Auto up 2%, Deutsche Bank
upgrades to hold from sell
Shares of Bajaj Auto gained as much as 2 percent on hopes of
strong growth in premium motorcycles business. Deutsche Bank
upgraded the stock to hold from sell earlier with a 17 percent
increase in target price to Rs 2100 apiece. The rating upgrade by
brokerage was on the bank of likely market share gains for Bajaj in
domestic motorcycles.
Supreme Court directs DLF to pay
Rs 630 cr penalty
Supreme Court directed realty major DLF to submit Rs 630 crore
within three months. The company will be submitting undertaking of
interest of 9 percent on Rs 630 crore fine. DLF pleaded that it
should be granted at least six months time to deposit the amount.
However, the bench said it was inclined to grant three months time
only.
Liberty Shoes to consolidate biz in 3
phases
Liberty Shoes is likely to undertake a consolidation exercise to
increase operational efficiencies and eliminate royalty. The
consolidation will possibly complete in three years in three different
phases. The company will merge with partnership firms, Liberty
Enterprises & Liberty Group Marketing Division and is likely to
acquire 10 sub-brands, distribution network, manufacturing facilities
of partnership firms.
