Mandate: “Breakfast for learning is national charitable
organization that educates and empowers communities
across Canada to start and sustain nutrition programs in
order to enhance learning and healthy development of
children and youth.”
6. Who are they?
First and biggest charity in Canada that helps schools
to nourish children
They have been helping schools to keep breakfast,
snack and lunch for about 20 years
Believed that children must have proper nutrition in
order for them to be successful in their education and
be able to reach their full potential.

19. Who are the OEYC?
OEYC is a place for children from ages 0-6 years, their
parents and caregivers can take part in the centre’s
programs and activities.
It’s a place where parents are able to find information
about the development of their children, resources
available in the local area for their needs.
Use to have snack program, due to lack of funding
from the provincial government they stopped.

OEYC Scarborough Southwest center is interested
to have the breakfast program again, and they are
asking for more information and updates about
the breakfast program.
