“They kept inching us up at Talladega (inside the test in October) plus they got us to the
speed, plus they seem confident with it.”

“We really don’t understand how fast they’ll use a large pack,” said Earnhardt Childress
Racing Engines’ Danny Lawrence. “I definitely don’t think they’re likely to speed them up.

NASCAR can transform to plates in increments of 1/64th inch. Using the introduction of fuel
injection, all engine builders would have to do is reprogram their injection systems to offer the
correct fuel-air mixture for any different plate size.
“Overall, NASCAR want to see us qualify better what we should race however with the
engine setups, that could be challenging to have two different plate sizes for qualifying and
