3. The Respiratory System’s is known for
the system that helps you breath. Your
lungs take in oxygen, and eliminates
CO2, or carbon dioxide. Breathing is
the movement of air into and out of the
lungs, and being human, we obviously
need to breath to live. This happens by
the alveoli exchanging the different
gases within your lungs.

4. The major parts and organs in this system
include your
lungs, bronchi, diaphragm, trachea, larynx,
pharynx, and your mouth and nose.
Although your lungs are the most known
parts of this system, we wouldn’t be able
to stay alive without the other parts of
this system.

5. The Respiratory System interacts with the
Circulatory system, where blood vessels are
filled with Carbon Dioxide (CO2), which the
alveoli take in, and then release Oxygen (O).
The blood vessels take in the oxygen, and
travel throughout the body with the oxygen.
The Respiratory System also interacts with
the nervous system because it is what
controls the rate in which you breath. Signals
are sent to your brain, and that is what
controls your natural rate of breath.

The respiratory system takes in air
through the nose or mouth. It then goes
through a complex system to get you the
oxygen you breathe and get rid of the
CO2. It then gives to oxygen to the
circulatory system which then gives your
body the oxygen it needs. Other systems
also help to give your body homeostasis.

(many of which can kill)including…
Cold/Flu- Due to Viruses
Bronchitis- Due to viruses and Bacteria
Pneumonias-Viruses and Bacteria
Asthma-Due to dust, smoke, pollution, and
pollen
Emphysema-Due to smoking
Lung Cancer- Due to smoking

healthy adult take?
› 12 to 20 bpm during rest, up to 45 when
exercising.

What happens after 4 to 6 minutes without
breathing?
› Your brain cells without oxygen are destroyed
and you will have severe brain damage, or you
will be dead.
