28. Abel Pann (1883-1963). Born Abba Pfeffermann in Latvia or in Kreslawka,
Vitebsk, Belarus, he was a European Jewish artist who spent most of his
adult life in Jerusalem. Pann studied the fundamentals of drawing for
three months with the painter Yehuda Pen of Vitebsk, who also taught
Marc Chagall. In his youth, he traveled in Russia and Poland, earning a
living mainly as an apprentice in sign workshops.

Bielorrusia, fue un artista europeo judío que pasó la mayor parte de su vida adulta en
Jerusalén. Pann estudió los fundamentos del dibujo durante tres meses con el pintor Yehuda
Pen de Vitebsk, quien también enseñó a Marc Chagall. En su juventud, viajó a Rusia y
Polonia, se ganó la vida, principalmente, como aprendiz en talleres de carteles.
