Shakespeare life
Who is he? He is a famous English poet and playwright (writes drama and literature).
What are some interesting facts of him? During his life, Shakespeare wrote 37 plays and 154sonnets. Shakespeare was also an actor who performed many of his own plays as well as those of other playwrights, for example, Ben Johnson. No one ever knew when was Shakespeare actual birthday He invented the word "assassination".
What was his childhood lie? He did not have much freedom as children that time was seen as young adults.
What was his social statue like?What was his family like? Shakespeare's father was a glovemaker and trader in agricultural goods: in other words, a craftsman and minor merchant. He became a member of the town council and held offices in the town's government. Shakespeare's wife came from a property-owning family in a small town near Stratford.
What inspired him to write? Like most writers, Shakespeare was inspired by nature. Birds were a constant subject. He was also inspired by the great novelists of his day like Ovid and Seneca
Why was his plays well-received? His plays contains of different emotions and emotions expressed very specially like romantic( romeo and juliet)
England in Shakespeare time
What was England like in Shakespearian time? Shakespeare lived most of his life during the Elizabethan Age. This is when Queen Elizabeth I was ruling England.  There  were three big epidemics. The first plague went around from 1592-1594. The second one went around from 1603 to 1604. The final plague was 7 years after Shakespeare died.
What were some of the significant historical events that affected England during this period? Black Death
Who ruled the monarchy during this period? Queen Elizabeth I
Did the people in power impact or influence Shakespeare’s work? If yes – How? Yes,  Humorous plays of Shakespeare are always directed towards people of the ‘lower’ status and the people who watched play that time are mostly rich people and Shakespeare wanted them to laugh at the poorer classes
What was the social system like during these years? There was a great difference between the way ordinary people and rich ones lived.  Rich landowners keep hundreds of servants and also supported drama or music.
What were some theatres like in that era? Complicated scenery  made of wood or cloth. The central part had no rood and there is no electricity to light the theatres. Stage is raised so that everyone can see. More expensive tickets are those how sits in two or three storeys high.
How did the set-up affect the plays that Shakespeare presented? In social system, it shows how poor the poor people are and how rich the wealthy people are. Shakespeare’s plays reflect the big difference between the classes of people
The Renaissance The Renaissance began in Italy in the fourteenth century. There was new interest in new forms of art, architecture, music and literature.
What does the word renaissance mean? It means the rebirth of learning
What were some significant events or changes that took place during this period of time?
How did the renaissance affect Shakespeare work? Shakespeare work was part of this ‘rebirth’ and related to this ‘rebirth’.
