In addition to teaching medicine, Dr. Bryan
Schneider treats breast cancer patients at Indiana
University Hospital in Indianapolis. Dr. Bryan
Schneider is also a member of the Komen
Scholars.
Formerly known as the Scientific Advisory Council
(SAC), the Komen Scholars are a group of 60
notable researchers and advisors dealing with
breast cancer research for the Susan G. Komen
for the Cure. These members have either made
noteworthy advancements within the field or
assisted with other cancer-based projects.

As the leading private funder for breast cancer
research around the globe, the Susan G. Komen for
the Cure has raised more than $2 billion to help those
in more than 50 countries. Established in 1982, the
foundation relies on assistance from volunteers,
researchers, and doctors, all of whom share a
common vision for finding a breast cancer cure.
The Komen Scholars consist of 54 individuals who
search for cures for cancer, as well as six other
individuals who serve as advocates of science and
help to reduce the burden of breast cancer within a
community. Collectively, the Komen Scholars pave the
way for innovative breast cancer research and quality
care.
