Year 8 students at Hawkesdale P12 College made paper from grass using physical and chemical reactions.

2. Step 1 Collecting When we collected the grass we went outside on the oval and cut them of with scissors. PHYSICAL CHANGE

3. Step 2 Crushing the Grass After we collected the grass we crushed it using a mortar and pestle PHYSICAL CHANGE

4. Step 3 Digesting Our next step was to put the grass in a beaker and pour caustic soda in it and leave it over night. CHEMICAL CHANGE

5. Step 4 Washing When we were washing the grass after the digesting we had to pour the grass and caustic soda over the gauze mat and put the grass back in and wash it and do it about 4-6 times. PHYSICAL CHANGE

6. Step 5 Bleaching When we bleached the grass we poured it over the grass in the beaker and then put it on a tripod and put a Bunsen burner under it and heated it until it was not quite boiled. CHEMICAL CHANGE

7. Step 6 Forming Paper We got a paper towel and a cardboard sheet and put the grass on the paper towel and push the cardboard onto the paper towel. PHYSICAL CHANGE
