Notas do Editor

  1. The first charitable objective about promoting cultural relations, has only just been added in June 2011 as a result of lengthy discussions with the Charity Commission, to ensure that the full range of our work is reflected in this defining document.
  2. Insert notes slides from Andy to remind people what the Royal Charter is – and the background to us updating our charitable objects.
  3. Our plans for the Global Network •    We are committed to maintaining an extensive worldwide network of operations managed through eight regions •    The network will change, responding quickly to fast-changing markets overseas and expanding income earning activities in both new and existing markets •    ‘Lighter’ models of operation with fewer buildings and more sharing of services •    We will invest in our digital offer •    We will have English, Arts, Education and Society expertise in strategic geographical locations who will work cross-regionally •    All countries will have a core set of programmes customised for maximum impact in the local context. High priority countries will have additional resources for an expanded portfolio of programmes. •    We will shift the balance from direct delivery ourselves to creating more impact through partners
