2. Introduction
Each year, millions of college students graduate from institutions all over the country.
However, only “14 percent of this year’s college seniors have steady, career-type jobs lined up
for their lives after graduation” (Owens). This is a serious problem, because these college
students are our future workforce and without the opportunity for these students to get real jobs,
they will fall deeper and deeper into debt. Due to this reoccurring problem, my staff and I have
come up with a solution called Next Step Up Avenue. Next Step Up Avenue is a company
dedicated to providing students with the necessary connections to have competitive jobs lined up
for them after they graduate. Unlike our competitors, we provide an opportunity for college
students to network with both company representatives and colleagues from all other institutions
across the world. Our company is inclusive of several departments. These departments are
human resource, finance, marketing, IT support, and sales.
Our company has a horizontal structure, in which each department has a supervisor that
reports to our CEO. The social media industry is a growing sector within the global economy.
With our social media website being tailored towards business professionals, we achieve our
goal of being unique. With that being said, my staff and I are seeking 200,000 dollars for 20%
equity in our company.
3. Marketing and Promotions
When it comes to a marketing approach, there are many options. The first option would be
campus promotion. We would to present to colleges including placement tests, while hosting
both seminars and webinars. Then, upon acceptance of Next Step Up Avenue, there can be
promotions through student emails, and an advertisement on colleges’ main website. Also, we
will promote on college campuses in places that many students travel to such as the student
unions, café, book store, class buildings and mail centers. Also our business can be promoted by
members of organizations such as the Student Government Association. The business will be
promoted on campus news and radio stations. The second option would be community
promotion. There will be billboards on major interstates and highway in which we can advertise
to those specific college students, and surrounding area college students are commuting to
school, in which they will see it as well. As modern technology increases, many college students
are drawn to social media, which leads to the third option, mobile advertising. To give insight
and ensure the positive progress of Next Step Up Avenue, the company would host an annual
conference for all of the users, and different colleges, so that the representatives can introduce
the company and its many advantages to students of different areas.
4. Internships
We provide a wide variety of internships for all sorts of career plans. Our company
makes a difference in the business world with our internships because they are uniquely provided
to top-notch companies who are searching for students that are ready for what it takes to join
them. To qualify for our internships as a student expecting to graduate within the next semester,
they must be enrolled in an accredited institution and have signed up for their last classes to
graduate with at least a bachelor’s degree. If the student has lower than a 2.0, they will need to
send references from at least one professor in a related field. If you are already a college graduate
looking for an internship, all you will need to do is submit your transcripts and resume along
with applying for the internship that interests you.
Our internship program is designed to align you with the best internship possible that will
connect you to your career field as fast as possible. We strongly recommend that you explore our
website for more information and FAQs about our company and what all we provide for
students. With our internships, our goal is to provide students and graduates with the best
possible career field, whether it be in the management, accounting, computer information
systems, or accounting fields. We want to change the way people look at college graduates as
well as the way people feel about student loans and repayment.
5. Closing
With the 21st Century’s grasp of higher technology, we can assist college students and
post graduates by easing the frustrations of preparing for the next step after college. Many
college students use different forms of media each day each day in college, students use
computers to help with assignments, emails, e-books, and many other things that contribute to
academic success. The question that remains is “Why not use an online computer service that
helps contribute to the success of life after graduation?” By researching and implementing this
online success tool, college students are sure to be at ease as they enter the workforce. When
using Next Step Up Avenue, a student is insuring themselves a chance to network with the top
chief executive officers, of the best companies. Students will receive valuable knowledge of
what it takes to be a part of a company, and how to excel, and move up the chain of command.
Your investment will provide up with the opportunity to reach many graduation college
students, or those who are willing to take the next step early in their collegiate careers. Next Step
Up Avenue will provide fast and reliable networking opportunities between college students and
CEO’s, providing internships, and job opportunities. The main goal of Next Step Up Avenue is
each college student or recent college graduates to obtain employment in their respective fields.
We understand that obtaining a college degree is not easy, however we want to ease the stress of
post-graduation, and help everyone on the “NEX STEP UP”. Thank you for viewing our plan.
