I have pleasure in presenting my CV. I have many years of experience in the manufacturing sector as an IT Manager, but my skills are such that I can adapt to other environments. I manage a team of in-house developers and support specialists working on in-house ERP systems for a major metals manufacturer as well as supporting multiple sites across Europe for voice and data. I also collaborate with US based colleagues on major Corporate projects. I am currently in the process of putting together a major overhaul of our European networking platform.

I am a Trustee of Chesterfield Canal Trust Ltd, a waterways restoration charity. I am
also a qualified passenger trip boat skipper and Inland Waterways instructor. I’m a
keen ice hockey supporter and cycle regularly. I also conduct a local brass band; my
son plays in the band. I have a current CRB and assist with the local Scout group. I sit
on the Community Action Planning Committee for my village as both a local resident
and a representative of the Canal Trust.
8. Summary
I’d describe myself as innovative; an “out of the box” thinker with a good
understanding of current technologies and a willingness to undertake new projects
and learn new skills. I have a good grasp of open-source platforms and environments.
I also have a very good understanding of the issues relating to the metals
manufacturing industry, both manufacturing and distribution. I have a strong technical
IT background as well as a good understanding of many issues affecting business
performance. Involvement with European subsidiaries makes me sensitive to issues
around European legislation for privacy, data governance etc.
