What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product ?
1.
2. When creating the opening sequence we chose to use a DLSR camera as well as a tripod, we
learned to use the camera for filming certain shots from our preliminary task as well as
additional lesions in class. The tripod, was provided for us by school and helped us to get
different types of shots from different angles it also had a stick attached to it that allowed
the panning effect that look really professional in the outcome of our video.
3. Personally the editing part was the hardest part out of the whole proses. As this was our
second time using the software premier pro, we as a group were quite slow, but YouTube
videos and experimentation helped us to create the exact effect that we wanted for our
video, an example of how we used other resources and research to help us editing when we
didn’t know what to do was the split screen effect, we where adamant that this had to be in
out opening sequence as it shows the protagonist and antagonist at the same time on
screen.
4. when it came to sound we first look to websites that offered free sound and sound effects, as
a group we wanted quite earie music that would give our video a tense atmosphere as this
was crucial to making it a thriller due to the codes and conventions of thriller films. As well
as that we used a website called YouTube converter witch allowed us to take certain music
from YouTube and converter it to a downloadable MP3 file that could to used on premier
pro. Some examples of sound effects that we used were sounds such as a heart beat and
heavy breathing as well as a crow sound.
5. As the task asked me to explore technology to create my opening sequence in a different
way, I decided to add two different types of music over the video to completely change the
feeling of my video. The first song I used was chaos chaos – can you feel it, the song itself is
slow in pace and gives a very emotional change to the video allowing immediate contrast to
be heard and seen. The second song I used was Arctic Monkeys - do you wanna know, as this
gave a much more relaxed and up beat feel to the video as Rhydian walked down the stares.
i did this by selecting the songs off YouTube and using YouTube converter to be able to use
them in premier pro. I thoroughly enjoyed this as it taught me how important music is when
creating a video as it can entirely change to piece all together.
