Serials Solutions didn't turn up any results, but there are still options available through the library. You can check the physical periodical collection or use Fusion to search for a specific journal title. Once you find the journal, view the library's holdings to see which volumes are available. If the library does not have the needed material, you can request an interlibrary loan through ILLiad by logging in and submitting the required fields which are pre-filled from the Serials Solutions link. Physical items are mailed to distance students at their registered address and most articles are delivered digitally within 2 weeks.

1. Serials Solutions didn't turn up any results? Don't
worry there are options at your library!
Your first, and fastest option, is to consult the
periodical collection at ISU. [show the stacks?]
Use Fusion to find if we have the issue that contains
your article. [click through steps to get to fusion plus
from SS link]
In Fusion Plus type in the Title of Journal and select
title in the first box. In the second type in
"Periodicals" and select subject from the pulldown.
This is the most direct way to search for a specific
journal. [go through steps while speaking]
Once you find your journal, click the title to see the
library's "holdings". The holdings list is a sort of
inventory of what volumes the library has. This will
also show you if another patron has the material
checked out. [click through, highlight available]
Find your volume in the list of holdings and record
the Call Number. The majority of periodicals are
located in the basement. [scroll through, highlight call
number]
2. If you are registered distance student, or ISU does not
have the material you can ask for an ILL of the item.
In Serials Solutions click "ILLiad (Interlibrary Loan)"
[highlight ILL, click through]
Log in using the username and password you created
whe you signed up for the service. [show mine for
example]
Clicking the "ILLiad" link in Serials Solutions
automatically fills in the required fields. You will want
to double check the fields just in case. [scroll through
click submit]
For distance education students you should have
already given your home address when creating your
ILL account. Books and other physical material will be
delivered to you there.
It takes around 2 weeks for delivery of ILL items.
Most articles take less than that as they are delivered
digitally. You will recieve an email that describes how
to access the material when it arrives.
If you have questions during the process please
contact the Reference desk or ILL. [List of contact
methods and hours.]
