Day 1 # Arrive at Indore. In and around Indore.
Indore is a city of Rajamata Ahilya Bai Holkar also known as Mini Mumbai.
Visit to Annapurna Temple, Bada Ganpati Temple, Kanch Mandir, Rajwada, Khajrana Ganesha Temple
and Cloth Market. Night stay at Indore.
Day 2 # Excursion - Omkareshwar & Maheshwar.
Proceed to Omkareshwar (77 kms - 2 hrs). Omkareshwar is a riverside pilgrimage home to Omkareshwar
Temple (A Shiva Temple and Jyotirlinga). There are many more temples around Omkareshwar by the
River. Time permitting visits these temples… Khedi Ghat, Dadaji Dhuni Wale Temple, Darshan of
Omkareshwar and Mamleshwar Jyotirling.
Then proceed to Maheshwar (Omkareshwar to Maheshwar 70 km.) Visiting Royal Ghats, Raj –
Rajeshwari Temple, Palace Of Rajmata Ahiliya Bai Holkar. Then return Indore by late evening. Night stay.
Day 3 # Indore - Mandu.
Proceed to Mandu (City of Raja Baj Bahadur and Rani Roopmati) (100 kms 2.5 hours).
Mandu (2000+ ft asl) is a local hill station offering pleasant climate all through the year. Mandu used to
be a fortified place now in ruins. These ruins would be of interest to a heritage traveller and tourists.
Night stay at Mandu.
Day 4 Mandu - Indore.
Local sightseeing at Mandu to Rewa Kund, Baz Bahadur's Palace, Roopmati's Pavilion, The Darwazas,
Jahaz Mahal (Ship Palace), Bagh caves, Nilkanth Palace (The Red Stone Temple of Lord Shiva), Hindola
Mahal, Jami Masjid and Hoshang Shah's Tomb. Then move towards Indore. Night stay at Indore.
Day 5 # Visit Ujjain and then Departure.
Proceed to Ujjain (60 kms - 1.5 hour) for Mahakaleshwar Temple (Lord Shiva Temple and one of the
Jyotrilingas). Ujjain is a Hindu pilgrimage and is home to a range of temples besides the Mahakaleshwar
Temple such as Harshiddhi Temple (Shaktipeetha), Kal Bhairav Temple (Where deity is offered Wine),
Jantar Mantar (Observatory), Shri Avanti Parshwanath Teerth (Jain Temple) etc.
Time permitting visit these as well. Depart for onward journey from Ujjain/Indore.
