Jesus taught us to come to God with audacious, bold, even brassy faith. God is honored by such faith. He sees that boldness and knows we mean what we say and know he alone can do what we want. Spoken to Our Father--a real father, a daddy, a pop, dad
Tone is confident and forceful, not begging
Verbs ( Hallow, Give, Forgive) are in imperative mood
Very specific requests for now and for future. Not vague.

5. TWO GUYS SHOUTING
THROUGH A DOOR
5-Then Jesus said to them, “Suppose you have a friend,
and you go to him at midnight and say, ‘Friend, lend me
three loaves of bread; 6 a friend of mine on a journey has
come to me, and I have no food to offer him.’ 7 And
suppose the one inside answers, ‘Don’t bother me. The
door is already locked, and my children and I are in bed. I
can’t get up and give you anything.’ 8 I tell you, even
though he will not get up and give you the bread because
of friendship, yet because of your shameless audacity
(anaideia) he will surely get up and give you as much as
you need.

6. A GREEK PEEK: ANAIDEIA
anaideia = shameless audacity, audacious, bold, brash, brazen ,
cheeky, fresh, impertinent, nervy, insolent, sassy, saucy,
Is not: civility, meek, mousy, retiring, shy, timid consideration,
courtesy, graciousness, politeness, thoughtfulness
anaideia has two parts: aidōs =a sense of shame or modesty, reverence,
regard for others, respect. “An” = negative ( not)
I Tim. 2:9: in like manner also, that the women adorn themselves in
modest apparel, with propriety (Aidos) and moderation, not with
braided hair or gold or pearls or costly clothing

7. The Persistent, Brazen Widow
18 Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they
should always pray and not give up. 2 He said: “In a certain town
there was a judge who neither feared God nor cared what people
thought. 3 And there was a widow in that town who kept coming to him
with the plea, ‘Grant me justice against my adversary.’
4“For some time he refused. But finally he said to himself, ‘Even though I
don’t fear God or care what people think, 5 yet because this widow
keeps bothering me, I will see that she gets justice, so that she won’t
eventually come and attack me!’”
6 And the Lord said, “Listen to what the unjust judge says. 7 And will not
God bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and
night? Will he keep putting them off? 8 I tell you, he will see that they
get justice, and quickly. However, when the Son of Man comes, will he
find faith on the earth?”

9. BRASSY BEGGAR
RECEIVES HIS SIGHT
35 As Jesus approached Jericho, a blind man was sitting by the
roadside begging. 36 When he heard the crowd going by, he asked
what was happening. 37 They told him, “Jesus of Nazareth is passing
by.”
38 He called out, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!”
39 Those who led the way rebuked him and told him to be quiet, but
he shouted all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!”
40 Jesus stopped and ordered the man to be brought to him. When he
came near, Jesus asked him, 41 “What do you want me to do for you?”
“Lord, I want to see,” he replied.
42 Jesus said to him, “Receive your sight; your faith has healed you.”
43 Immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus, praising God.
When all the people saw it, they also praised God.

10. CHEEKY
CANAANITE WOMAN
22 A Canaanite woman from that vicinity came to him, crying out, “Lord,
Son of David, have mercy on me! My daughter is demon-possessed and
suffering terribly.”
23 Jesus did not answer a word. So his disciples came to him and urged
him, “Send her away, for she keeps crying out after us.”
24 He answered, “I was sent only to the lost sheep of Israel.” [NO!]
25 The woman came and knelt before him. “Lord, help me!” she said.
26He replied, “It is not right to take the children’s bread and toss it to the
dogs.” [No! AGAIN]
27“Yes it is, Lord,” she said. “Even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their
master’s table.”
28 Then Jesus said to her, “Woman, you have great faith! Your request is
granted.” And her daughter was healed at that moment.
