CAD Designer/Engineer
The role of the CAD Designer Engineer is to lead the forward model program designs, take on
responsibility of mechanical components and interface with systems engineer along with developing
the supply base.
Primary Responsibilities:
Revise existing layouts and details as affected by notice action.
Facilitate translation of drawings and specifications for market
Prepare complete design layouts including parts lists of assemblies and components.
Generate detail component, assembly and electrical drawings.
Prepare tolerance stack-ups for design components.
Obtain and provide relevant reference material for design, detail, and checking.
Ensure engineering documents conform to established drafting and dimensioning standards.
Ensure layouts and details are properly structured for data integrity.
Provide data transfer assistance to customers and suppliers
Qualifications and Skills needed for success:
Minimum of a 2 year degree in mechanical design or engineering (B.S. degree in
mechanical
design or engineering preferred)
Expertise in AutoCAD 2008 or later, 2D and 3D modeling
Experience in Solidworks or Pro-E highly desired
Working knowledge with data management, file conversion, and file transfer technologies
International project leadership/teamwork skills a plus
Excellent communications and interpersonal skills – position requires strong interaction in
multi-functional team environment
Must be a self-starter who takes the initiative to find solutions to technical challenges
Must demonstrate knowledge of and proficiency with creative problem solving methods.
Good understanding of industry design and documentation standards
