Constituent updates
For each new transaction in Bloomerang, if the constituent is not already coded as
a Donor, update the Donor Type custom field to assign this value.

For each new transaction, if the GL Code custom field is empty, lookup the
appropriate GL Code by the Bloomerang Fund and then update the GL Code
custom field.

Generating an API key

● Navigate to your User Settings
● In the API Keys v2.0 section,
click Generate
● Enter a Name for the key (Zapier)
● Click Generate

● Navigate to Settings > Transactions
● Select Custom Fields
● Click on the custom field to Edit
● Field ID is located in the URL

● Create draft Zap in Zapier
● Skip trigger; create an action
● Select Bloomerang as the app
● Select Create Donation as the action
● Expand the custom field dropdown
and note gray ID

Automated
acknowledgements

Use Case
Automated acknowledgements
For each new transaction in Bloomerang, send an email acknowledgement through
the desired service. Then, create an interaction in Bloomerang for the sent
acknowledgement before updating the transaction to mark it as Acknowledged and
link the corresponding interaction.

Connect Bloomerang to Zapier
● Go to My Apps
● Click Add Connection
● Search for and select Bloomerang
● Grant access using your Bloomerang login credentials
