Job description
Reporting to the Director of Technology, the Applications Engineer is the technical liaison between customers and internal
functions (i.e., Technology/Engineering, Operations) and identifies and implements an array of engineering solutions.
The chosen candidate will be required to travel extensively to the Chicago, IL manufacturing plant and assist in
moving/transitioning the manufacturing processes/operations to the company's new Southern MA facility, which is where the
position will be permanently based.
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
•Determines feasibility of designs considering costs, time limitations, planning, and other technical and economic factors
•Conducts engineering studies on design for products, associated and subsystems components, and structures
•Analyzes engineering proposals, process requirements, and related technical data pertaining to design
•Designs and tests tools and fixtures for manufacturing and quality
•Interprets and evaluates customer prints, requirements, and specifications
•Develops and designs internal prints and documents •Assists customers with design concepts that optimize effectiveness of
customer application
•Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods, utilizing knowledge of product design, materials and parts,
fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, and assembly methods
•Optimizes processes and equipment utilization. •Monitors and improves product quality and productivity (OEE)
•Troubleshoots process issues
Your qualifications
•Min. of 5 years experience with glass-to-metal-seal, defense as technical customer liason
•4-year degree in Mechanical Engineering, degree in Ceramic and Glass Science or Metalurgy/Materials Science strongly
preferred
•Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills
•Extensive experience as customer liaison and technical consultant
•Project management ability
•Experience with problem solving in a mechanical design or a production environment is required
•Must be a self-starter with a hands-on approach and the capability to work independently as well as in a team<
Manufacturing Engineer
Job description
Reporting to the Director of Technology, the Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for designing and improving
manufacturing methods and processes.
•Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods, utilizing knowledge of product design, materials and parts,
fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, and assembly methods
•Optimizes processes and equipment utilization, focus on lean manufacturing
•Monitors and improves product quality and productivity (OEE)
•Troubleshoots process issues
•Implements process improvements that reduce costs, improve yields and enhances the overall efficiency of the process

Mechanical Engineer
2. Job description
Develop new products, procedures and methods for customer applications, transfers to manufacturing and provide on-going
manufacturing support.
Responsibilities include:
-Conceptualize products from drawings, sketches or verbal instructions to develop and design products and improve existing
products and assembly procedures.
-Works directly with customers and through Sales department regarding product development, customer requirements and
manufacturing techniques.
-Transfer new product information to the manufacturing department and train manufacturing and quality personnel in new
techniques.
-Provide technical support to manufacturing and sales.
-Project documentation including design updates, print changes, routers, material lists and tooling Requirements. Maintain
engineering documentation, provide documentation to sales for approval of customers to Marketing for new product
introduction, logistics for planning and purchasing and to manufacturing for production.
-Complies with all safety rules and regulations.
-Complies with all company and department policies and procedures.
-Maintain good housekeeping.

Your qualifications
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Science or equivalent.
Experience:
More than 2 years previous Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering experience required.

Opto Mechanical Designer
Job description
Produces clear, accurate layouts, designs, assembly and other drawings as required for production, development or
improvement of product and tooling, including the handling of the complete opto-mechanical design. Information for these
designs will be provided by specifications from customers, input of engineers, supervisor or own information gathering.
Responsibilities:
- Provides opto-mechanical design analysis of tolerancing, expansion, materials and process.
- Assists development engineers on introduction of new products, machinery, and fixturing at the design stage.
- Coordinates design efforts on multiple major projects.
- Produces clear, accurate opto- mechanical layout, detail, and assembly drawings for production and development tooling
projects.
- Identifies new vendors as well as commercially available hardware and equipment to satisfy tooling and product design
requirements.
- Checks work of other design-drafting personnel as necessary.
- Ensures that all designs, as well as all drawings are compatible with current production techniques, safety requirements,
and drafting standards.
- Requires an in depth knowledge on the interaction of optical, electronic, and mechanical components.
- Observes all safety rules and regulations.
- Maintains good organization and housekeeping.
- As required, may perform other related duties as directed.
Your qualifications
Education:
Academic or technical high school diploma plus Two (2) years technical college, including CAD studies, or equivalent. 4 year
degree plus experience.
Experience:
