2. After clicking on the gold star button and seeing the listen of career choices that where
there I realized that the career I wish to have was not on the page so I chose a career that I
was interested in when I was younger and that was an Interior Designer. A person in this
has lot reasonability such as conferring with clients to determine factors affecting
planning interior environments, such as budget, architectural preferences, and purpose
and function. They also advise clients on interior design factors such as space planning,
layout and utilization of furnishings or equipment, and color coordination. Coordinates
with other professionals, such as contractors, architects, engineers, and plumbers, to
ensure job success. Reviews and details shop drawings for construction plans. Estimates
material requirements and costs, and presents design to client for approval. Subcontracts
fabrication, installation, and arrangement of carpeting, fixtures, accessories, draperies,
paint and wall coverings, art work, furniture, and related items. Formulates
environmental plan to be practical, esthetic, and conducive to intended purposes, such as
raising productivity or selling merchandise. Selects or designs, and purchases furnishings,
art works, and accessories. Renders design ideas in form of paste-ups or drawings. Uses
computer-aided drafting (CAD) and related software to produce construction documents.
Unfortunately this field was not listed in the results of my assessment. For this career I
would need an associate's degree and become certified as well as licensed interior
designer. The salary range for this career is depending on your years’ experience, for
insist 0 - 2 years,$30,719 - $43,8312 - 4 years=$37,043 - $49,963/4 - 6 years=$42,146 -
$59,109/6 - 8 years=$49,107 - $72,154/8+ years=$57,184 - $86,066. While doing this job
I would expected to be able to be able Identifying color and seeing differences in color,
including shades and brightness, seeing clearly at a distance, being able to work inside
3. most of the time, and sitting one-third of the time, being able to left up to 10lbs and
sometimes 20lbs.
I learned a lot about myself after finishing the work values sorter. For one I
learned that I need to be in a busniess where im my own boss. I have a serate way of
doing things and im a bit of a perfectioness when it comes to dealing with things that are
important to me. And the career in which I intend to be in puts me in charge,I also
learned that it is very important to me that my work allows me to use my best abilities.
Althought at the end of the work values sorter my career field was not listed, but I was
very happy in seeing Interior Designer on the list because when I was younger that’s
what I was interested in doing.
After looking thourgh the gold star list I chose the occupation of an Interior
Designer which I was very intrested in and already knew a lot about. Whlie looking
thourgh the connections on the next page I checked out a couple of websites. But the was
on in particular that I checked out that I learned a lot from and that was
www.interiordesignsociety.org/ . On there website I learned about interior design and
designers this website is based on keeping the design commuity strong it is alsoone of the
country's largest design organizations dedicated to serving the residential interior design
industry. The Interior Design Society offers members community, education and business
support.
Based on what I learned with this reseach my educational and career goals have
slighty changed abit. At frist I was just detemined to go into film production and
4. writing. To do my two years here a broward college and then transfer but I never had a
back up plan for f it dones’t work out intill now. Interior desginer is something I’ve had
an interest for and something im farly good at and I know I could make a pertty good
career from it.I found this project very helpful for me to see what type of worker I was
and it helped me with my career palns, and no nothing about this project surprise me.
