This message reviews some of the common ways in which Christians drift from the correct interpretation of the commands in scripture, and why the correct interpretation is cause for a joyful and fulfilling life in Christ.

2. Galations 2:15-16 (ESV)
15We ourselves are Jews by birth and not
Gentile sinners; 16 yet we know that a person is
not justified by works of the law but through
faith in Jesus Christ, so we also have believed in
Christ Jesus, in order to be justified by faith in
Christ and not by works of the law, because by
works of the law no one will be justified.

3. Galations 2:17-21 (ESV)
17 But if, in our endeavor to be justified in Christ, we too
were found to be sinners, is Christ then a servant of sin?
Certainly not! 18 For if I rebuild what I tore down, I prove
myself to be a transgressor. 19 For through the law I
died to the law, so that I might live to God. 20 I have
been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but
Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh
I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and
gave himself for me. 21 I do not nullify the grace of
God, for if righteousness were through the law, then
Christ died for no purpose.

4. Galations 4:8-11 (ESV)
8 Formerly, when you did not know God, you
were enslaved to those that by nature are not
gods. 9 But now that you have come to know
God, or rather to be known by God, how can
you turn back again to the weak and
worthless elementary principles of the
world, whose slaves you want to be once
more? 10 You observe days and months and
seasons and years! 11 I am afraid I may have
labored over you in vain.

5. John 4:13-15 (ESV)
13Jesus said to her, “Everyone who drinks of
this water will be thirsty again, 14 but whoever
drinks of the water that I will give him will never
be thirsty again. The water that I will give him
will become in him a spring of water welling up
to eternal life.” 15 The woman said to
him, “Sir, give me this water, so that I will not
be thirsty or have to come here to draw
water.”

6. Psalm 23:1-3 (ESV)
1 The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. 2 He
makes me lie down in green pastures. He
leads me beside still waters. 3 He restores my
soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for
his name’s sake.

7. Isaiah 43:6-7, 25 (ESV)
6I will say to the north, Give up, and to the
south, Do not withhold; bring my sons from afar
and my daughters from the end of the earth, 7
everyone who is called by my name, whom I
created for my glory, whom I formed and
made.”
25 “I, I am he who blots out your transgressions
for my own sake, and I will not remember your
sins.

8. Ephesians 2:8-10 (ESV)
8For by grace you have been saved through
faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the
gift of God, 9 not a result of works, so that no
one may boast. 10 For we are his
workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good
works, which God prepared beforehand, that
we should walk in them.

9. What is the chief end of man?
Man’s chief end is to glorify God
and enjoy Him forever.
