Scope of the NDDS
• The novel drug delivery system (NDDS) is
intended to increase the efficacy of drugs.
• NDDSs are adopted to increase the
bioavailability of the drug, to reduce adverse
effects and side effects, and increase drug
stability.

Targeted Drug Delivery Systems
• Targeted drug delivery, sometimes called
smart drug delivery, is a method of delivering
medication to a patient in a manner that
increases the concentration of the medication
in some parts of the body relative to others.
