Trench Warfare Trench ware fare was used to protect their positions to cut down losses Both sides used Trenches All night supplies were brought in, scouts were sent out At dawm/dusk attacks came: Hit them with artillery then men go over the top.  Problems with trenches: mud rats, smell, body rot. Staying dry, maggots, lice and disease
 
Why The U.S Entered WW1 The sinking of lusitania- it was a passenger ship that secretly carrying ammunition. A German submarine sunk the lusitania- 1198 passengers died (128 were Americans) Un-restricted submarine warfare The Zimmerman note- Was a official of Germany,  who sent a telegraph to Mexico promising American land of they attacked Mexico.
U.S In WW1 General Pershing led the U.S troops By 1917 Germany controlled- Belgium, Italy and N. France By july 1918 The U.S has 1 million troops in the war By October, 1918 German lines are crumbling The 11 th  hour, the 11 th  day of the 11 th  month in 1918 the war ends.
T r e a t y  O f  V e r s a I l e s New Nations Were Created Russia- Finland, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland Austria Hungary- Austria, Hungary, Czeozslavia, Yugoslavia Ottoman empire- Divided up to be controlled by the Allies Germany was Punished Forced them to pay 33 billion dollars They were only able to pay 4.3 of it Greatly reduced their armed forces
