With new scales in place, all areas of the ELA test present a decrease in students
scoring above grade level and an increase in the number of students scoring below
grade level. The graphs below represent scores for the Information and Understanding
section of the NY State ELA exam.

Where Do We Go From Here?
1. We accept the challenge of higher academic
standards set by the state.
2. We support ELA initiatives across the curriculum.
3. We develop and carry out a plan to improve service
to ELL students.
