2. Introduction
 Glass fiber is a material consisting of
numerous extremely fine fiber of glass
 Formed when thin strands of silica based
formulation glass are extruded into many
fibers with small diameters suitable for
textile processing.
 Technique for heat is used for drawing
glass fibers fine.
 This technique is known as millenia.
 Until this glass were manufactured as
staple fibers.

3. Properties
1. Glass fibers are good thermal insulators
2. Excellent strength
3. Excellent resiliency

4. Unfavorable Properties
 Heavy fiber.
 Poor drape.
 Poor elastic recovery.
 Poor hand or feel.
 Completely hydrophilic.

5. Uses
 It is used for curtains and tyres.
