Check plugins for compatibility
If you have a custom theme, make a copy
(Optional) Deactivate plugins

4. Performing the Upgrade
3 Ways:
– Manual (not recommended)
– cPanel
Fantistico will tell you but will not do the upgrade
Simple Scripts will do the upgrade, in batch
– WordPress Dashboard (recommended)

5. Contingency Plan
What happens if my upgrade goes bad?
– Pray…lots of praying
– You really made that backup, right?
Troubleshooting
– Plugins are a common upgrade problem
Deactivate if you can, if not change plugin folder
name
– Themes aren’t as common but it still occurs
