In bullfighting, a picador is a mounted man who carries spears in order to assist the bullfighter if he is seriously endangered by the bull. The horse is covered in heavily quilted armor to protect it from the bull's horns.
38. In 1993 Fernando Botero was honored with an exhibition of his sculpture along the Champs Elysees, the first non-French artist to exhibit at this venue. Botero has also been honored with an individual exhibition at the Grand Palais in Paris.
