WELCOME
WELCOME
Welcome to our Autumn/Winter season, packed
with thrilling drama, riotous comedy, West End and
Broadway hit musicals, superb local theatre
and live music.
Your Theatre: brings the best of the West End shows to your doorstep
together with activities for all ages (see pages 30 - 31) and performances to
tickle your laughter buds, your taste buds and even, with Monty Don,
your flower buds. Just be careful if the plant in question is an all singing, all
dancing monster of a Little Shop of Horrors plant, called Audrey II.
There’s a huge variety of shows – some, like the comedy dining experience
Basil & Co and Jenny Eclair, back by popular demand, whilst Clare Teal
and the BBC Big Band bring their own superlative music shows and, after the
phenomenal success of the Balletboyz, we welcome Ballet Black
with Triple Bill featuring Storyville, set in 1920s New Orleans.
Your Choice: whether young or old, Christmas is sparkling with festive
drama this year. For our youngest audience, the spellbinding Dear Santa
based on Rod Campbell’s best-selling children’s book will enchant the whole
family, whilst this year’s fabulous pantomime, Sleeping Beauty, our funniest
and most spectacular family pantomime ever, starring CBeebies favourite
Rebecca Keatley and a spectacular cast of singers, actors and dancers,
including the comic genius of Dame, Sam Rabone.
For the office party, or a night out with friends, our Anti-Panto, Crimes
Against Christmas, sets you up for a very special festive evening out.
We look forward to welcoming you to our house.
Karen Foster, Tim Ford and the Lichfield Garrick Team

CRIMES AGAINST
CHRISTMAS
A New Old Friends and Lichfield Garrick
co-production in partnership with Theatre Royal
Bath & Natural Theatre Company
Christmas is a time of year for family and children,
but sometimes as an adult you just need to get away.
This year the Lichfield Garrick is teaming up with
critically acclaimed comedy company, New Old Friends,
to present something a little different for adults only,
an Anti-Panto if you will.
Crimes Against Christmas is a new comedy thriller
that sees a host of characters invited to a party in a
mysterious house on a remote island. No sooner has the
party started than the guests start dying in suspiciously
Christmassy ways: the Lords they are a-leaping to their
deaths, lead pipes are piping people’s heads in and
guest of honour Pete Artridge does not like the look of
the rope in the pear tree one bit.
Think Agatha Christie meets 12 Days of Christmas
meets 39 Steps.

Lichfield Garrick Season Brochure Sept 2016

  • 1. BOX OFFICE 01543 412121 • WWW.LICHFIELDGARRICK.COM SEPT 2016 TO JAN 2017
  • 2. 2 WWW.LICHFIELDGARRICK.COM WELCOME WELCOME Welcome to our Autumn/Winter season, packed with thrilling drama, riotous comedy, West End and Broadway hit musicals, superb local theatre and live music. Your Theatre: brings the best of the West End shows to your doorstep together with activities for all ages (see pages 30 - 31) and performances to tickle your laughter buds, your taste buds and even, with Monty Don, your flower buds. Just be careful if the plant in question is an all singing, all dancing monster of a Little Shop of Horrors plant, called Audrey II. There’s a huge variety of shows – some, like the comedy dining experience Basil & Co and Jenny Eclair, back by popular demand, whilst Clare Teal and the BBC Big Band bring their own superlative music shows and, after the phenomenal success of the Balletboyz, we welcome Ballet Black with Triple Bill featuring Storyville, set in 1920s New Orleans. Your Choice: whether young or old, Christmas is sparkling with festive drama this year. For our youngest audience, the spellbinding Dear Santa based on Rod Campbell’s best-selling children’s book will enchant the whole family, whilst this year’s fabulous pantomime, Sleeping Beauty, our funniest and most spectacular family pantomime ever, starring CBeebies favourite Rebecca Keatley and a spectacular cast of singers, actors and dancers, including the comic genius of Dame, Sam Rabone. For the office party, or a night out with friends, our Anti-Panto, Crimes Against Christmas, sets you up for a very special festive evening out. We look forward to welcoming you to our house. Karen Foster, Tim Ford and the Lichfield Garrick Team C

This year the Lichfield Garrick is teaming up with critically acclaimed comedy company, New Old Friends, to present something a little different for adults only, an Anti-Panto if you will. Crimes Against Christmas is a new comedy thriller that sees a host of characters invited to a party in a mysterious house on a remote island. No sooner has the party started than the guests start dying in suspiciously Christmassy ways: the Lords they are a-leaping to their deaths, lead pipes are piping people’s heads in and guest of honour Pete Artridge does not like the look of the rope in the pear tree one bit.
